The Great American Smokeout- November 17
The Annual Great American Smokeout happens on the third Thursday in November. This year, that day is the 17th.
It’s the American Cancer Society’s yearly day to encourage smokers to quit and begin new, tobacco-free lives.
It is the #1 preventable cause of premature death and disease in the world.
Forty million Americans still smoke with tobacco-related healthcare costs in the US exceeding $133 Billion from 2000-2012.
For every $6 pack of cigarettes a smoker buys, they are incurring $35 worth of healthcare over their lifetime. That adds up.
Support the smokers in your lives in their efforts to stop and help them quit today. Their lives are worth it.
